This is a free cross stitch pattern of Santa. This will look great in your Christmas home. This design is intermediate, it has 25 different colours and it measures around 8 x 12 inches. We recommend that you use a dark fabric, ideally black so that the white colours look vibrant but you can of course stitch it on a white aida if you find black fabrics difficult. This pattern has been made in black and white symbols. Stitch little by little and mark whatever you have stitched with a highlighter pen. Here is a good tip: if you have an ipad, you could upload the pattern in your ipad and enlarge it as much as you want. The only problem with this technique is that you can not highlight the area you stitched unless you use both the hard and electronic copy!

About the pattern
Please note the pattern include 2 overlap columns. Gray shaded columns indicate overlap from previous page. Do not stitch shaded area.
To ensure that your cross stitch is correctly positioned when you are stitching it, you need to be certain that it is in the right place on your fabric. It is therefore important to know where to work the first stitch, and because one of the golden rules of cross-stitch is that you begin close to the centre of the design, you need a simple way of determining where the centre of the design should be. The centre of the design will be at the centre of the fabric. To find the centre in your chart locate the two arrows. One arrow will be in the top center and another one in the middle left side of your chart. Follow these two arrows. Where they meet is your center stitch. Next, find the center of your fabric - fold it in half twice. The center will be at the intersection of the two folds.
